HIFU facelift – Non-Surgical skin lifting has become one of the most sought-after treatments and High Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU) is the latest to excel in this area in just one single session. It targets specific areas on the face and neck, individually; Brow Lifting, Jowl Line Lifting and under eye Wrinkle Reduction for overall skin tightening and rejuvenation.
The HIFU face lift uses highly focused acoustic energy to create thermal coagulation zones at 3 different selected depths which is causing a wound healing response resulting in the formation of new collagen. The tissue at these target points is heated to 65 degrees centigrade which create spaced ‘wounds’ or cones of heat and cellular friction. The process promotes healing, immediate contraction and collagen stimulation through fibroblast activity.
The SMAS layer (Superficial muscular aponeurotic system) is the layer which the muscles of the face and the soft tissue attach. During cosmetic surgery a portion of this SMAS is removed and then reattached to give a longer lasting result than the traditional skin tightening facelift. The SMAS is the section of the skin treated with HIFU to give a longer lasting tightening effect as a result of the non-surgical treatment.
Who is suitable for HIFU?
females and males at the age of 30 and above with moderate skin laxity will benefit will prevent premature aging with building new collagen. Aged 50+ with advanced skin laxity will also benefit from the procedure but results are not comparable with surgical results.
